BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County resident alleges she was injured while working in Beaumont when she fell through rotted wood.

Dwan Hunt filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against ExxonMobil Oil Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 15, 2018, the plaintiff was an employee of Echo Maintenance and was working at defendant's ExxonMobil premises in downtown Beaumont when she fell through rotted wood on top of a cooling tower. She alleges she suffered serious injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, loss of earnings, medical expenses and physical impairment.

The plaintiff holds ExxonMobil Oil Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly was negligent in failing to provide a safe working environment and failed to warn of the rotted wood.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Taylor Miller of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
