HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges that an operation almost two years ago rendered his left foot without any sensation and has filed a lawsuit.

David Mears brought the medical malpractice suit against UT Physicians Orthopedics – Katy and Dr. William C. McGarvey in the Harris County 11th District Court on Dec. 7.

McGarvey reportedly performed the procedure on Mears at Orthopedics’ facility on Dec. 29, 2016.

“During the surgery, the defendant McGarvey negligently severed the sural nerve and used a ‘fiber wire’ to suture the incision causing permanent and serious injury to the plaintiff,” court documents say.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by The Joeckel Law Office in Fort Worth.
