Court papers implicate hospital, others in Oct. death of baby girl

Lawsuits

HOUSTON – The law firm Kwok Daniel Ltd., L.L.P. in Houston has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit on behalf of a Harris County couple whose young daughter perished two months ago at a local hospital.

In the suit filed against Texas Children’s Hospital and others on Dec. 18 in the Harris County 190th District Court, Eric and Claire Jacot allege that Amiyah Jacot was transported to TCH West Campus last Oct. 3 for respiratory monitoring only to suffer fatal injuries while under the care of staff.

The girl was purportedly injected with 80cc’s of fluids, to which her parents claim stopped her heart. The baby also suffered 11 broken ribs and multiple puncture wounds prior to her death, the original petition says.

According to court documents, Amiyah’s ordeal was recorded on surveillance video.

Consequently, the elder Jacots seek unspecified monetary damages. Court records also show that they requested for a temporary restraining order.
