HOUSTON – Locally-based Keane Group, Inc. has been sued by an employee who asserts that the company passed him over for a promotion because of his military service, recent Houston federal court records show.

David Gadson’s lawsuit, which was filed on Dec. 18, explains that as a member of the Army Reserves, the Rio Grande Valley resident is required to deploy for assigned missions.

The plaintiff’s supervisors reportedly used Gadson’s absences attributed to fulfilling his military obligation to prevent the plaintiff from securing a lead equipment operator position.

“Keane circumvented its own customary promotion policy and failed to promote Gadson,” the original petition says.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Chukwudi Egbuonu of the Law Office of Chukwudi Egbuonu in Houston.
