BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman alleges she was injured at a Walmart in Beaumont because of liquid on the floor.

Kandyce Ashworth filed a complaint on Nov. 27 in the Jefferson County District Court against Walmart Stores Texas LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 22, 2018, she was injured at defendant's store when she slipped and fell on a liquid substance on the floor. At the time of the incident, the suit states the plaintiff was seven months pregnant and suffered bleeding and severe injuries to her back and body in general.

The plaintiff holds Walmart Stores Texas LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide its invitees with a safe place to walk and did not warn of the unreasonably dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks an order restraining defendant from destroying, tampering or in any other way changing the surveillance video of the scene of the accident and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Fabiana Baum of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
