HOUSTON – A federal lawsuit pitting two United flight attendants against The Boeing Co. came to an end before it could turn a month old.

Recent Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas records show that U.S. District Judge David Hittner issued an order early last month dismissing the suit brought by Lee Marvin Sanders and Matthew Sodrok.

As previously reported in The Southeast Texas Record, Sanders and Sodrok sued Chicago-based Boeing over a malfunctioning smoke/fire detection system on their aircraft that caused them to suffer permanent hearing loss.

The men claimed in court papers filed on Nov. 8 that they sustained their injuries while working aboard United Flight 1975, a Boeing 737, from Denver to Houston on Jan. 8, 2017 when “an ear-splitting ringing filled the aircraft.”

Boeing reportedly did not respond to the allegations.
