HOUSTON – A widow alleges a physician failed to correctly interpret her late husband's EKG results before his death.
Noelia Dillingham, individually and as the sole heir at law of the estate of David Dillingham, et al. filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the Harris County District Court against Marsha Hughart, MD and Memorial Clinical Associates PA alleging wrongful death.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 10, 2017, David Dillingham presented to the defendants for a yearly physical examination and reported feeling sharp chest pain for the past several days. The suit states an EKG was done and had abnormal results, however Hughart informed him it was normal and he could resume his usual activities. The suit states that that night while doing yard work, he collapsed and died the same day.
The plaintiffs hold Hughart and Memorial Clinical Associates PA responsible because Hughart allegedly failed to send David Dillingham to hospital or emergency room and failed to correct interpret the EKG findings.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which they may be justly entitled. They are represented by Mary E. Green of Brown & Brothers in Houston.
