HOUSTON – A Harris County man’s state district lawsuit claims that a Mexican financial institution abused and harassed him over the past year.

In court documents filed on Dec. 21, 2018 in the Harris County 189th District Court, Cameron W. Barela accuses Crédito Real, doing business as Crédito Real USA Finance and formerly known as AFS Acceptance, Inc., of engaging in a “pattern of harassment” by way of repeated phone calls to him and members of his family in an attempt to collect a purported debt.

Barela further asserts that the defendant falsely threatened to take legal action against him, as well as accused him of committing a crime.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Jennifer M. Solak of Lemberg Law, L.L.C. in Wilton, Conn.
