HOUSTON – A Harris County man’s state district lawsuit accuses two medical facilities of committing barratry.

Court papers filed on Jan. 9 in the Harris County 270th District Court assert that Southern Rehabilitation Clinic, LLC and Prestige Chiropractic, LLC attempted to solicit Javier Celaya’s business following a motor vehicle accident last June.

According to the original petition, the solicitation was made without the plaintiff’s permission.

Celaya further claims that “an individual identifying himself as an attorney” also called him with a solicitation. The purported attorney is not a party in the litigation.

Consequently, he seeks unspecified monetary damages.
