HOUSTON – A worker for a subcontractor alleges he was injured while working on a construction project in Frisco because he was not adequately trained to use a tool.

Joel Valdez filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Harris Circuit Court against Aber Fence and Supply Co., et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Aber Fence and Supply was subcontracted to work on a four-story apartment building in Frisco, and the plaintiff was hired by Aber to perform work. The plaintiff alleges that on April 10, 2017, he was erecting beams using a magnetic drill with other co-workers to form the skeleton of the structure when he was injured.

The plaintiff holds Aber Fence and Supply Co., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately train plaintiff on the proper use of the magnetic drill and failed to provide proper tools and equipment to safely use the drill.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Richard G. Paxton of Paxton Law Firm in Houston.
