HOUSTON – Claiming that she was injured at the end of an ambulance ride last year, Harris County resident Opal Schendel has filed a lawsuit.

Schendel is suing National Ambulance Co. LLC, doing business as National Care EMS, in the Harris County 55th District Court.

Court filings dated Jan. 28 state that the defendant picked the plaintiff up from the Medical Resort at Bay Area and transported her to The Methodist Hospital on Feb. 22, 2018.

The stretcher on which Schendel laid “tipped over” following her arrival at her intended destination, the original petition says.

Schendel purportedly fell onto the concrete below and sustained injuries to her head, back, and arm. She has been staying at a medical care facility so that she can be monitored around the clock, the suit says.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by the law firm Fernelius Simon PLLC in Houston.
