HOUSTON – A Pasadena man is seeking more than $1 million from a Houston company after a bay door fell on him and allegedly caused injuries.

Mark Girod filed a complaint on Jan. 28 in the Harris County District Court against Elliott Electric Supply Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 26, 2018, he was at defendant's premises at 191 Turning Basin Drive in Houston when a bay door, which had been propped up with a pole, fell on him. He alleges he sustained serious injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, loss of earnings, mental anguish and physical impairment and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Elliott Electric Supply Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn him about the pole that was holding the door open and failed to maintain the bay door.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million but less than $10 million and all other relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Meghan B. Hennesy of Bergquist Law Firm in Houston.
