CLARK HILL: Clark Hill Strasburger Member Corinne Smith Named to Trinity University Alumni Association Board

Clark Hill Strasburger Member Corinne Smith has been elected to the Trinity University Alumni Association Board and will serve two, three-year terms effective immediately.

“Corinne is a natural leader – whether advising hospitals, physicians, and healthcare consultants as they build and protect their businesses or mentoring the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs as they seek to innovate the industry,” said Kevin Wood, Business Unit Leader of Clark Hill’s Healthcare Law Practice. “We are delighted that she has been recognized for her commitment to Trinity University and its healthcare administration program.”

Established in 1869 and celebrating its 150th anniversary, Trinity University is located in San Antonio, Texas and has 29,000 alumni. The University’s Healthcare Administration Graduate Program is consistently ranked one of the top programs in the nation for developing leaders able to adapt and respond to the challenges of 21st century healthcare delivery.

Dedicated to the practice of healthcare law, Smith joined Clark Hill Strasburger’s team after nearly a decade of providing sophisticated legal service to healthcare giants Ascension/Seton Healthcare Family and UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. She served as Director of Legal Services for Ascension Texas and Chief of Strategic Partnerships and Legal Counsel to UT Health, part of the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She has in-depth technical knowledge regarding the nuances of Stark law, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, HIPAA, managed care contracting, licensure and regulatory compliance, public/private partnerships, and healthcare operations.

Smith is board-certified in healthcare administration as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the board of the Austin/San Antonio Chapter of Texas General Counsel Forum, chairs the Austin Bar Health Law Section, and mentors healthcare start-ups through accelerators Mass Challenge and Capital Factory.

Smith holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. She has served on the University’s Health Care Administration Advisory Council for six years and as the Chair of its Healthcare Administration Annual Fund Campaign for the past two years. While at Trinity, Smith was a member of the Chi Beta Epsilon Sorority and the American College of Health Care Executives Student Chapter.
