HOUSTON – A Harris County man’s state district lawsuit faults a self-storage rental business for allowing the purported destruction of his personal belongings.

Mario Roberson filed the suit against Nine Sac Self Storage Corp. in the Harris County 133rd District Court on Feb. 7, stating that the defendant notified him that there was a leak from the AC unit at the premises and his unit had water.

“When Mr. Roberson inspected his unit, he saw standing water in the unit and his personal belongings were destroyed,” the original petition says.

Roberson adds that he made an unsuccessful claim with the respondent’s insurer. A written demand for compensation was also rejected, the suit says.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Patrick O’Hara of the O’Hara Law Firm in Houston.
