HOUSTON – A state district lawsuit accuses a Fort Bend County dentist and her practice of performing a procedure which left a female patient with “permanent facial disfigurement.”

Sandra Miller raises medical malpractice allegations against Dr. Fabiola Garcia and Five Star Dentists in the suit filed on Feb. 8 in the Harris County 152nd District Court.

According to Miller, the defendants inappropriately monitored her while she underwent oral surgery to address “unusual swelling” two years ago. The procedure was unsuccessful as the plaintiff “remained unusually swollen,” the suit says.

In a subsequent visit to an oral surgeon, Miller learned that a piece of the root had been left inside her gum. She then had another procedure done.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Marilyn Vilandos of The Vilandos Firm in Houston.
