HOUSTON — Two Houston residents are suing a motorist, alleging his negligent driving caused a traffic crash on an Interstate Highway 10 frontage road.

Ty N. Nguyen and To Huong filed a complaint March 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Rosedale Transport Inc. and Jimmy Tylor, alleging gross negligence and negligent entrustment.

According to the complaint, on May 22, 2017, Nguyen was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry with Huong as his passenger. The suit says when Nguyen tried to move to the U-turn lane on an I-10 frontage road, Tyler, driving a tractor-trailer for Rosedale Transport, switched lanes improperly.

The lawsuit alleges Tyler's tractor trailer struck the Toyota, causing injuries to the plaintiffs, leading to pain and suffering and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs allege Tyler failed to keep proper lookout or maintain proper speed and that Rosedale failed to properly train its drivers.

Nguyen and Huong seek trial by jury, damages of more than $75,000, attorney fees, court costs and all just relief. They are represented by attorneys Jason P. Hoelscher and Bianca Calderón De Lachica of Sico Hoelscher Harris LLP in Corpus Christi.
