Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on March 13.

Adelaida Vasquez, a Shareholder in the Houston office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been named a 2019 Fellow by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).

Vasquez joins a group of select attorneys who participate in a year-long, in-depth program devoted to relationship-building, in-person training, peer group projects and extensive contact with LCLD and legal profession education leaders. “I am honored to have been selected and look forward to collaborating with such an impressive group of diverse professionals,” said Vasquez about her participation in LCLD.

According to the LCLD, selection in to the program involves a rigorous nomination process designed to identify lawyers from diverse backgrounds who have distinguished themselves within their LCLD member firms. Founded in 2009, LCLD has more than 300 members who are chief legal officers at major corporations and law firm managing partners personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.

Vasquez focuses her practice on international compliance matters and has considerable experience assisting clients throughout Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Vasquez recently co-authored “Get More Bang for Your Compliance Buck by Conducting Risk Assessments” for a 2018 edition of The Texas Lawbook.
