Asbestos suit against Texaco alleges exposure from 1954, man blames lung cancer on company

BEAUMONT – Texaco and two other companies have been named in asbestos lawsuit blaming them for a man’s lung cancer.

Donny Broussard filed his suit March 7 in Jefferson County District Court, also naming 3M Company and Guard-Line as defendants.

According to the lawsuit, Broussard was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. The defendants allegedly exposed him to defective asbestos products while he worked as an electrical helper for Texaco in Port Arthur.

Broussard was employed from 1954 to 1967.

He is alleging gross negligence and suing for punitive damages.

Attorney Tina Bradley of Hobson & Bradley represents him.

Judge Baylor Wortham, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
