HOUSTON – An apartment complex near Houston’s Sharpstown district is the target of a Texas man’s personal injury lawsuit.

In the suit brought against United Core Management, Inc., doing business as United Core Group, and United Apartment Group on Mar. 26 in the Harris County 113th District Court, Ariel Ordonez states that he was electrocuted while performing work at the defendants’ property, the Urban Palms Apartment Homes, on June 12, 2018.

“That day, Mr. Ordonez entered the community pool to repair a malfunctioning pool light when he was electrocuted,” court papers say.

According to the original petition, the plaintiff “lost consciousness under water and had to be resuscitated.” The respondents reportedly were aware of the “unsafe electrical condition” but failed to address it.

Ordonez seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by J. Moises Cedillo of the Cedillo Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
