Claiming pipe fell on him at refinery, worker pursues legal action

GALVESTON – A laborer from Johnson County has filed a lawsuit in response to an on the job accident at a Texas City refinery, recent Galveston County District Court records show.

Thomas Montes is suing Specialty Welding and Turnarounds, LLC in the 405th District Court. He claims that one of the defendant’s employees dropped a pipe on him as he was working at the Marathon Refinery on Jan. 27, 2018.

Montes purportedly suffered severe bodily injuries after the pipe struck him on the head and neck.

He seeks unspecified monetary damages, and is represented by Wade A. Barrow of Barrow Law, P.L.L.C. in Fort Worth and B. Trey Morris of the law firm Morris, Dewett & Savoie, LLC in Shreveport, La.
