BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County man is suing his employer through a class action lawsuit, alleging he was not paid overtime wages for hours worked of more than 40 per week.

Douglas Harris, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint April 8 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Clean Harbors Industrial Services Inc., alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Harris says he was employed by Clean Harbors as a vacuum truck driver and paid on an hourly basis. The suit says Harris regularly worked more than 40 hours a week, which obligated the defendant to pay him overtime wages as required by the FLSA.

The defendant, however, was negligent in paying the plaintiff the fair wage and did not pay him for overtime hours worked, the suit alleges.

Harris seeks deserved overtime compensation, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Melissa Moore and Curt Hesse of Moore & Associates in Houston.
