HOUSTON — A Jacksboro man is suing a pipeline construction business, alleging he was injured at a worksite project due to the negligence of a fellow employee.

David Pruitt filed a complaint April 9 in Harris County District Court against Hart Construction LLC and Nortex Midstream Partners LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 14, Pruitt was working for Hart Construction on a bell hole in an oil pipleline project near Perrin, Texas. Without warning, the suit says, a truck hoe operator moved the pipe and struck Pruitt repeatedly, resulting in catastrophic injuries to the plaintiff, including a crushed femur. This, the lawsuit alleges, has led to substantial medical treatment for Pruitt as well as mental anguish.

The suit alleges the defendant failed to perform work operations in a safe, reasonable and prudent manner and operated the truck hoe without ensuring a clear path.

Pruitt seeks damages of more than $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Ryan H. Zehl, Matthew O. Greenberg and Zachary P. McFarlane of Zehl & Associates PC in Houston.
