Worker alleges construction company's negligence led to electrocution

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a construction company, alleging he was electrocuted due to the defendants permitting a dangerous condition.

Jose Maximiliano Perez filed a complaint April 10 in Harris County District Court against Mazzarino Construction and Development Ltd., Mazzarino Group Management LLC and MIA Holdings LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Perez was working at a site near 1310 Castle Court, Houston on Dec. 15, 2017. The suit says a piece of scaffolding came into contact with a power line and with Perez. The plaintiff says he suffered severe injuries from being electrocuted.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed maintain and enforce a proper safety program at the site and failed to provide adequate supervision and training.

Perez seeks monetary relief in excess of $1 million, trial by jury, compensatory damages, interest, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys John M. Padilla, James G. Rodriguez, Alex Gonzalez of Padilla & Rodriguez LLP in Houston.
