Customer blames grocer for slipping on tomato

HOUSTON — A customer is suing a Houston grocer, alleging she was injured when she slipped and fell on a tomato.

Parvin Sharifi filed a complaint April 23 in Harris County District Court against HEB Grocery Company LP, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Sharifi entered HEB Grocery, 11815 Westheimer Road, Houston on Sept.12, 2017. The suit alleges Sharifi slipped and fell on a tomato that was on the floor of the grocery, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff and leading to medical, pharmaceutical and hospital expenses and lost wages.

Sharifi seeks relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, court costs and all further just relief. She is represented by attorney Jorge L. Gomez of Gomez Law Firm in Houston.
