HOUSTON — A consumer is suing a debt collection agency alleging he was harassed by phone calls.
Dathan L. Sauer filed a complaint April 30 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against SRA Associates, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and the Texas Debt Collection Act.
The plaintiff alleges his wife leased a Hyundai vehicle for three years after which there was an outstanding balance. Sauer says he began receiving calls on his cell phone in April and he has continued to receive these calls, despite requesting that the calls stop.
The plaintiff says the defendant's malicious and wanton conduct has severly impacted his daily life and well-being.
Sauer seeks trial by jury, actual and punitive damages, injunctive relief, attorney fees, court costs and all just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Alexander J. Taylor, Marwan Daher and Omar Sulaiman of Sulaiman Law Group in Lombard, Illinois.
