HOUSTON — A patient is suing a doctor, alleging she suffered a nerve injury due to a negligent procedure.

Christina Martinez filed a complaint on May 6 in the Harris County District Court against Dr. Rakerry Rahman, Rakerry Rahman M.D. PA, Spine & Orthopedic Surgical Institute PLLC and Life Spine Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Martinez underwent an interbody fusion May 15, 2018, at which time Rahman used Life Spine implants that were too large. On May 29, 2018, the suit says, Martinzez had the appropriate sized implants put in but she sustained nerve damage during the procedure.

The plaintiff says she sustained pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, medical expenses and loss of earning capacity.

Martinez seeks trial by jury, interest, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorneys Gregory L. Feste and Tommy R. Hastings, of Hastings Law Firm PC in The Woodlands.
