MARSHALL — A warehouse supervisor is suing her employer, alleging she was unfairly terminated due to an ankle injury.

Lessie Lemerail Holliday filed a complaint May 13 in the Marshall Division for the Eastern District of Texas against Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, alleging Americans With Disabilities Act discrimination and unfair discharge,

According to the complaint, Holliday began working for Pilgrim's Pride on Oct. 23, 1989.

The plaintiff says her right ankle, which had bothered her since a fracture at age 7, began to give her issues in December 2017 and she had to undergo surgery April 25, 2018. The plaintiff, the suit says, was then discharged June 27, 2018, from her position as a warehouse supervisor even though she required time off to recover from the surgery.

Holliday seeks trial by jury, punitive damages, interest, attorney fees and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Wade A. Forsman of Sulphur Springs.
