Man seeks more than $1 million from Master Machine after injuring hand while using lathe machine

HOUSTON – A man alleges a company's failure to provide a safe workplace caused injuries to his hand while he was operating a lathe machine.

Robert Carter filed a complaint on May 13 in the Harris County District Court against Master Machine Inc., alleging negligence and premises liability.

The suit states the plaintiff was working at a location on Chickasaw Lane, Houston on March 8 and was told by the defendant to operate a lathe machine. He alleges while working on the machine, his thumb was caught and he was injured.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to make necessary safety inspections, failed to provide him with a safe work place and failed to properly warn and instruct him.

The plaintiff is seeking a trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million, actual damages, court costs, interest, punitive damages and other relief damages deemed fit. The plaintiff is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
