BEAUMONT – An automobile collision lawsuit slated for trial settled before a jury could be selected, according to a courthouse official.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Brownie Veazie filed suit against Kristy LeBlanc and WW. Grainger Inc.

According to the lawsuit, on June 11, 2015, Veazie was a passenger in a vehicle when she was in a collision with LeBlanc, who was in the employment of WW. Grainger at the time of the incident.

The car Veazie was riding in was in a shopping mall parking lot when it was struck by LeBlanc, who allegedly failed to heed a stop sign.

The case was slated for trial on May 20.

Veazie was seeking damages for her past and future pain, emotional pain, impairment and medical expenses.

She represented herself.
