HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a 24 Hour Fitness, alleging he slipped and was injured in a pool area due to lack of slip-resistant flooring.

Warren Thomas filed a complaint May 21 in Harris County District Court against 24 Hour Fitness USA Inc., doing business as 24 Hour Fitness, alleging liability, negligence and malicious conduct.

According to the complaint, Thomas was in the 24 Hour Fitness at Voss and San Felipe in Houston on Feb. 9. The suit says Thomas slipped and fell in the pool area area, which should have been fitted with a non-slip surface. The plaintiff says he sustained severe and extensive injuries that have physically impaired him.

Thomas seeks between $200,000 and $1 million in monetary relief, actual, special and consequential damages, interest, punitive damages, costs of court and other just relief. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
