U.S. Foods driver alleges unsafe ramp, trailer caused injuries

MARSHALL – A truck driver is suing his employer over allegations an unsafe working environment caused him injury.

Scott Hollis filed a complaint on May 30 in the Marshall Division for the Eastern District of Texas against U.S. Foodservice Inc., and U.S. Foods Inc., alleging negligence.

The suit states the plaintiff was employed by the defendant and was unloading one of the defendant's trailers on June 2, 2017, when he was injured. The plaintiff alleges that the trailer's ramp was unreasonably dangerous and that the trailer was overloaded.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to provide a safe working environment, failed to provide safe equipment and failed to inspect and repair defective equipment.

The plaintiff is seeking relief of more than $75,000, punitive damages, interest, costs of court and other relief deemed fit. The plaintiff is represented by Clay Wilder of Wilder & Wilder PC in Henderson.
