Visitor alleges hospital's negligence caused injuries from malfunctioning revolving door

HOUSTON — A  Houston woman is suing a local hospital, alleging a malfunctioning revolving door caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Sharon Huston filed a complaint June 11 in Harris County District Court against Memorial Hermann Hospital Southeast Auxiliary and Memorial Hermann Health System, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 17, 2017, Huston was entering the defendant's facility at 11800 Astoria Blvd. Houston. The suit says Huston was walking into the premises by a revolving door, when one of the door's dividers speeded up. The plaintiff said she was hit in the back, shoving her forward into a glass window, resulting in serious injuries to her face and leading to physical impairment, pain and mental anguish.

Huston seeks more than $100,000, interest, exemplary damages and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Andrew L. Payne and Henisha Anderson of Payne & Payne & Associates in Houston.
