Student alleges Houston-Downtown negligence led to fall, injuries

HOUSTON — A student is suing a Houston university alleging he was injured after falling in a classroom hallway.

Jose Briones filed a complaint June 17 in Harris County District Court against University of Houston-Downtown, alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, Briones was going to class Sept. 30, 2017, when he slipped and fell while walking down a hallway due to water that had been left on the ground. The plaintiff alleges he suffered severe injuries that led to pain, mental anguish, physical disfigurement, loss of wages and medical expenses.

Briones seeks relief of more than $200,000, interest, court costs and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Adam Ramji and Frank Sedita of Ramji Law Group in Houston.
