HOUSTON — An employee suing a Harris County auto sales business, alleging he was not paid the proper overtime rate.

Victor Eduard Villegas filed a complaint July 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Latinos Unidos Auto Sales LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Villegas was employed by Latinos Unidos from March 2018 to April 29, 2019. The plaintiff alleges he regularly worked in excess of 40 hours a week but was not paid the appropriate wage of 1 1/2 times his hourly rate for hours worked overtime. The defendant, the suit says, has knowingly violated the FLSA.

Villegas seeks trial by jury, unpaid wages, interest, liquidated damages, attorney fees, and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker of The Buenker Law Firm in Houston.
