Dog attack blamed on Houston neighbor's negligence

HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing a neighbor, alleging he was injured when the defendant's dog escaped through a fence and bit the plaintiff.

Danny Corrales filed a complaint July 1 in Harris County District Court against Jonathan Serna and the Farrell Family Trust, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 23, 2018, Corrales was bitten on the forearm by a dog that was under the care of the defendant but had escaped through a fence that was in disrepair at 9703 Appleridge Drive, Houston. Corrales says he sustained pain and suffering and medical expenses.

The suit alleges the defendants had the duty to protect others from a dog they knew to be dangerous.

Corrales seeks up to $200,000, trial by jury, all just relief, attorney fees and interest. He is is represented by attorney Patrick O'Hara of O'Hara Law Firm in Houston.
