HOUSTON — A Denver woman is suing a Houston hospital, alleging that she was caused to suffer a stroke due to the defendants' negligence.

Linda Marie Smith filed a complaint July 1 in Harris County District Court against Dr. Chen Peng Roe, Memorial Hermann MHMD and Memorial Hermann Network, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Smith underwent a procedure May 13, 2012, to see if she had a brain aneurysm. On the day of the procedure, Smith alleges she saw a bright light and was told upon regaining consciousness that she had experienced a stroke. The plaintiff says she currently struggles to walk and that the defendants allegedly were negligent in their responsibilities and led the plaintiff to suffer in her current state.

Smith seeks court costs and all fit relief and damages. She is representing herself.
