Worker blames worksite manager for fall from roof

HOUSTON — A worker is suing a Harris County business, alleging he was injured when he fell from a roof at the defendant's worksite.

Miguel Martinez filed a complaint July 9 in Harris County District Court against Paik Family Investment LLC et al, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan, 22 Martinez was working as an independent contractor, hired by Paik Family to work on a roof at 9035 Mississippi St., Houston. The suit alleges because the defendants negligently failed to provide the correct training or equipment to Martinez, he fell fall from the roof, resulting in injuries both physical and emotional.

Martinez seeks relief of more than $1 million, interest, trial by jury, general and special relief and all other appropriate relief. He is represented by attorneys from Smith & Hassler in Houston.
