SHERMAN — A consumer is suing a debt collection agency, alleging he was harassed with numerous phone calls.

Eric A. Terrill filed a complaint July 19 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against United Revenue Corporation, alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and violation of the Texas Debt Collection Act.

The plaintiff alleges he began to be contacted by United Revenue in January, which was allegedly attempting to collect a debt. Terrill says he has made multiple requests that the defendant cease contacting him but the calls have continued, causing the plaintiff frustration and emotional distress.

Terrill seeks trial by jury, $500 per phone call, attorney fees and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Alexander J. Taylor, Marwan R. Daher and Omar T. Sulaiman of Sulaiman Law Group Ltd. in Lombard, Illinois.
