HOUSTON — A Liberty County woman is suing Michelin and an auto shop, alleging that she was caused to be injured due to defectively designed tires.

Tina Turnbo filed a complaint July 19 in Harris County District Court against Michelin North America Inc. and Richard Jadoosingh, doing business as Frank's Auto Solutions, alleging design defect, manufacturing defect, failure to warn, negligence and gross negligence.

According to the complaint, a Michelin tire was installed on Turnbo's vehicle by Frank's Auto Solutions in Baytown. The suit alleges on Dec. 23, 2017, Turnbo lost control of her vehicle on FM 1960 in Dayton, struck a power pole, flipped over and struck the roof of a nearby residence before resting upside down. The plaintiff says she needed help to escape from the vehicle, but needed special aid for her injuries that led to pain and suffering and impairment.

The plaintiff alleges the incident was due to the negligence and defective tire design by Michelin as the tire did not meet state and federal safety regulations.

Turnbo seeks relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest, court costs, attorney fees and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Scott P. Armstrong, Megan C. Savage and Joshua D. Lee and Armstrong Lee Savage LLP in Houston.
