AT&T alleges local company bore through cable lines

GALVESTON -- AT&T in Texas filed suit July 25 against Dettling & Son LLC in Galveston County District Court, alleging the defendant negligently destroyed the plaintiff's property.

According to the complaint. on Aug. 19, 2017, Dettling & Son damaged two air ducts and a conduit in Sealy that contained 1200 pair cable, all of which were owned by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and AT&T Texas. 

AT&T says Dettling & Son could have easily avoided damaging the property, but were negligent. It also alleges Dettling & Son was trespassing, which caused the damage in the first place. The plaintiff alleges the damages cost $49,906.18

AT&T also requests Dettling & Son disclose all documents, electronic information and other possessions that it may use to support its claims or defense. 

AT&T seeks economic damages up to $100,000, costs of court, interest and all just relief. It is represented by attorneys Christopher McKinney and Jacob Richardson of Orgain, Bell & Tucker LLP of Houston.
