GREENBERG TRAURIG: GT Energy Attorneys, Practice Areas Recognized in 2019 Legal 500 U.S. Guide

Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.

Four Energy attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP are recognized in the The Legal 500 2019 U.S. Guide. The firm’s Energy Practice continues to increasingly receive recognition from Legal 500, listed for three energy practice areas in 2019. For the first time, the Guide recognized the firm in Energy Regulation: Conventional Power, while continuing to recommend the firm in Energy Regulation: Oil and Gas and Energy Transactions: Oil and Gas.

According to the publisher, the Guide’s acknowledgements recognize practice area teams and practitioners who are “providing the most cutting edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel.” The recognitions are based on feedback from 300,000 clients worldwide, law firm submissions, and interviews with private practice lawyers, in addition to Legal 500’s independent research in the legal market.

The following energy attorneys are recognized in the Guide, in the listed practice areas:

William Garner – Houston

Energy Transactions: Oil and Gas

Energy Regulation: Conventional Power

Gregory K. Lawrence – Boston and Washington, D.C.

Kenneth M. Minesinger – Washington, D.C.

Howard L. Nelson – Washington, D.C.

“This recognition by The Legal 500 is a testament to the growth and breadth of experience of our Energy practice group as a whole. This is important in and of itself, and also further distinguishes us as we simultaneously grow our private equity and strategic M&A practices, given the level of interest shown by our fund clients in the energy and infrastructure asset class,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, Greenberg Traurig’s Executive Chairman.

Garner is co-chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Practice and chair of the Renewable Energy Group. He focuses his practice on domestic and international hydrocarbon and inert gas transactions and renewable energy. He has experience working on worldwide natural gas projects, including unconventional gas.

Lawrence is experienced appearing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and multiple state utility commissions regarding regulatory proceedings, compliance and enforcement, capacity and energy market structure, transactions and negotiations, asset transfers, and governmental affairs.

Minesinger is co-chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Practice. He represents domestic and international clients in the development of their oil and gas resources, on major oil and gas pipeline and LNG projects, and on a broad range of energy regulatory issues, including complex multiparty pipeline rate cases and in certificate, LNG licensing, and other proceedings.

Nelson has more than 30 years of regulatory and litigation experience, which includes representing clients in major interstate natural gas and petroleum pipeline hearings at FERC and state agencies, involving complex multiparty rate cases and in certificate, LNG licensing, restructuring, tariff, gas quality, merger and interconnection proceedings.

Firmwide, more than 140 attorneys and 36 practices were recognized.
