HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing his former employer, alleging he was terminated in order to make room for younger employees.

Steve Strobel filed a complaint Aug. 23 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Chiyoda International Corporation, alleging age discrimination.

According to the complaint, Strobel was a 57-year-old male and who had been employed by Chiyoda beginning in 1999 as controller. The suit states the plaintiff was terminated July 6, 2018, after the defendant decided it wanted to appoint younger employees to certain positions.

Strobel seeks trial by jury, back pay, front pay, interest, attorney fees and all just relief. He is represented by attorneys Mark G. Lazarz and Sidd Rao of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
