HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a Houston property owner, alleging he was injured due to a faulty stairwell.

Franklin Shane Reeves filed a complaint Aug. 22 in Harris County District Court against Maxima Rosales, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Reeves was employed by Northwest Pest Control and on June 15, 2018, and was working at Rosales' residence at 9725 Lou Edd Road, Houston. The suit alleges Reeves was putting pest control spray on the stairs when the stairwell collapsed, causing the plaintiff to fall backward and hit the floor. The plaintiff says he sustained serious injuries from the fall, which led to pain, suffering and impairment.

Reeves seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Michael A. Zimmerman of Law Offices of Zimmerman, Zimmerman, Cotner, LeJeune & Ressetar in Waco.
