SHERMAN — A consumer is suing two credit reporting companies, alleging they failed to remedy misleading information about the plaintiff.

Ebony McNeil filed a complaint Sept. 5 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Stellar Recovery Inc., and Experian Information Solutions Inc., alleging violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, McNeil disputed information that was listed on Experian's credit report and that Experian and Stellar Recovery failed to modify or correct the information that was disputed.

The plaintiff says her information in the account was not only inaccurate but also misleading, causing McNeil damages to her account and financial standing.

McNeil seeks trial by jury, damages, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Dennis McCarty of McCarty and Jonathan Raburn of McCarty & Raburn PLLC in Rockwall.
