HOUSTON — A Channelview woman is suing a debt collection agency, alleging it falsely reported information about her account.

Nadirah Habeeb filed a complaint Sept. 5 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against National Credit Adjusters LLC, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

The plaintiff allegedly owed The Cash Store $1,057, and National Credit was seeking to collect on the debt. The plaintiff said she noticed on her credit reports that the defendant failed or refused to flag the account reflected by the alleged debt. As a result of the defendant's actions, the plaintiff says she has been caused to suffer emotional and financial damages.

Habeeb seeks trial by jury, attorney fees, actual damages and statutory damages, interest and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Chad Hammond of Houston.
