Walmart customer alleges negligence caused fall, injuries

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is sung Walmart, alleging that she slipped and was injured due to the store's negligence.

Ronke Odueke filed a complaint Aug. 26 in Harris County District Court against Walmart Stores Inc. and Wal Mart, alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 1, 2017, Odueke was shopping at the Walmart Supercenter store No. 2993 in Sugar Land. The suit states Odueke slipped and fell on a thick and glittery substance that had been left on the ground. Due to the fall, the suit states, the plaintiff suffered serious physical injuries that required medical treatment.

The plaintiff alleges that store employees apologized to her and accepted responsibility for not keeping the floor safe.

Odueke seeks trial by jury, unliquidated damages of $250 million, exemplary damages, interest, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Sarah S. Doezema of Houston.
