HOUSTON —A Harris County woman is suing a Houston restaurant, alleging the alcoholic beverages served by the defendant made a customer violent.

Lisa Buss filed a complaint Aug. 27 in Harris County District Court against Fleming's Beverages LLC and Jane Doe, alleging assault.

According to the complaint, Buss was at Fleming's Beverages restaurant, 2405 W. Alabama St., Houston, on Dec. 8, 2017 when she misplaced her purse in the restroom. The plaintiff said she knocked on the stall that she had used and found that it was occupied by Jane Doe.

Buss alleges she asked Doe if the purse was in the stall and when Doe opened the door she accused the plaintiff of falsely claiming that she had stolen the purse. Doe allegedly then attacked Buss, causing her to suffer severe injuries and mental anguish

The plaintiff alleges Fleming's Beverages was negligent through serving the alcoholic beverages that caused Doe to become violent.

Buss seeks monetary relief of up to $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Nathan E. Inurria and George K. Farah of the Farah Law Group PLLC in Houston.
