HOUSTON — A Harris County couple is suing an event management company, alleging that they failed to perform as they were contracted to for a wedding reception.

Faisal Tai and Madison Williams Tai filed a complaint Sept. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Blink Films & Images Corporation, individually and doing business as Blink Decor & DJ and doing business as Blink Décor, alleging deceptive trade practices and breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the Tais entered into an agreement with the defendant to provide a DJ, picture and video and décor services for their wedding at La Toretta in Montgomery on Nov. 27, 2018. The suit alleges Blink arrived two hours late to begin setting up for the wedding and did not complete the setup as the contract stated they would.

Blink allegedly was to have the decor ready by 7 p.m. but the defendant did not complete the setup until after 9 p.m. As a result of the defendant's alleged negligence, the plaintiffs say their food was cold and numerous other portions of the reception were ruined.

The plaintiffs allege they were damaged in the amount of $29,201.

The Tais seek damages, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. They are represented by attorneys Candice C. Smith and Scott T. Citek of Lamm & Smith PC in Houston.
