HOUSTON — A Harris County maritime worker employee is suing a construction company, alleging he was injured while aboard a ship and not given timely medical attention.

Floyd White filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the Harris County District Court against Manson Construction Company alleging wrongful denial of maintenance and cure benefits and Jones Act negligence.

According to the complaint, White was employed by Manson aboard the dredge vessel Glenn Edwards. On Aug. 12, 2015, the suit states, White was injured, suffering a traumatic brain injury, an injury so traumatic that he has no memory of that date.

The plaintiff alleges could not perform his regular duties but Manson failed to provide White with any medical care. By the time the plaintiff said he was given required medical care he was suffering from focal seizures.

The plaintiff alleges Mason Construction was negligent in their duty to provide him with the necessary medical care in a reasonable amount of time.

White seeks trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Charles F. Herd Jr. of Herd Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
