Houston female police lieutenant alleges sexual harassment by her captain

HOUSTON — A female police lieutenant is suing her the city of Houston, alleging she was subjected to sexual harassment by her captain.

Christina L. Salazar filed a complaint on Sept. 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against the city of Houston, alleging sexual harassment, gender discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, Salazar has been employed by the Houston Police Department as a lieutenant since August 2013. The suit alleges Salazar was subjected to several closed-door meetings with Captain Jacob Atkins in which he made inappropriate physical advances. The plaintiff says she has been repeatedly subjected to sexual harassment due to her gender including a hostile work environment.

Salazar seeks trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs, interest, and all just relief. She is representing herself.
